Formed by Jason McGovern in 2009, the Describers seeks to create a quirky, energetic and eclectic sound that also brings glory to God. While regularly crafting completely original material, McGovern and the Describers also have a certain affinity for the hymns of William Cowper and John Newton, and have often placed their text to new music. The Describers feature McGovern and a variety of other folks he has convinced to play with him.

Born and raised in Lebanon, PA, Jason McGovern grew up listening to classic rock and new wave. Influenced by a variety of artists and styles, McGovern now hopes to bring honor to Jesus Christ through his music. He currently lives in West Chester, PA having graduated from Drexel University in June 2010.
