Whether he’s playing alone or with his group, Jason McGovern wants to be sure he’s got nothing left to give at the end of each set.

In late 2009, Jason’s passion for music led him to create The Describers, a project that initially was a sandbox where he could tinker with and rearrange some old hymns. Not long after he started performing, however, his own words and stories started to creep into the music. Soon, he was combining lyric and melody in songs that ranged from the intimate to bombastic.

As a solo act, The Describers is mildly folksy and a bit soulful, but with a little extra help, it often becomes danceable rock-n-roll. Currently joining Jason are Aaron Morris on drums, Jordan Chavous on bass guitar and Philip Vader Weide on keys.
